WELCOME TO THE OUTLANDER CONFERENCE GLASGOW WEBSITE!

The Outlander Conference Glasgow 2023 is an international interdisciplinary conference that will study and celebrate the cultural impact and legacy of the Outlander books and TV series. It is organised by the University of Glasgow, where it will take place from 18 to 22 July 2023.

 

The Outlander Conference Glasgow 2023 will interweave academic panels with workshops and presentations by cultural industry professionals in order to provide educational and entertaining discussions that will be open to academic researchers and the general public. Contents are based on major themes of the novels and the TV series including Scottish culture and heritage; the Gaelic language, music and culture; Jacobitism and 18th-century life; international relations; politics and warfare; time travel; feminism; media production, consumption and representation; screen policies and screen tourism.
